    In theory Russian aircraft tended to use odd numbers for fighter aircraft and even numbers for bombers, ground attack, transports and just about everything else.
    In practice the system could be a bit vague (eg with fighter-bombers) and the numbering of some aircraft really didn’t fit in with the odd-even methodology at all (eg Tu-95 Bear and Su-25)

    Definatly an SU-22. NATO used reporting names, such as ‘Fitter’ in this case, for
    Russian aircraft. The aircraft seen here departing Fairford was a SU-22M4 operated by the Polish air force. The SU-22 is basically a largely upgraded SU-17. The sound reminds me of the old F-8 Crusader. It made a similar noise when reheat was engauged!

    nope, its a su-22 fitter 😉

    @Timo3531 Su-22?

    Isn’t it an Su-17? I could be wrong, just thought that Sukhoi didn’t use even numbers.

    The sound is beautiful!
