Yes our bass drummer was totally knackered after our performances we all where 😀 It´s great to see that this is still up on youtube. It is a damn shame they dismantled the Royal Swedish Army Drumcorps 🙁

Britain makes some of their own (Harrier).
Germany did most of the work on the Panavia Tornado and Eurofighter
And France is probably the biggest one. Ever heard of Dassault? The company that made the Mirage Series, Jaguar, and Rafael?

Sweden still is one of 4 countries in the world that makes their own Jet Aeroplanes. The others are USA, Russia and China (That was pretty obvious right?) And at the time of the Cold War we had the world fourth biggest airfleet and in 1959 we had over 1000 planes. Also we cant be all neutral. We shipped german soldiers in exchange for money to Norway and Finland. Also we traded iron with them for a total value of some million tons of gold… Tihi.

@Raz0rbabe Sorry to disturb your discussion but I just want to add that neither Swedes nor Japanese are pussies. I know for one that Sweden, even though we haven’t been to full scale war on our own territory for 200 years, have proved ourselves in combat. We’ve had 80.000 troops abroad on different missions the last 50 years. That has to count for something, no? We also had 8.000 volounteers who fought for the finns in the winter war of ’40.

Yes you are, we are in total agreement!

  16. comment number 16 by: Raz0rbabe

Yes, us Japanese are pussies, tough I never said anything else.

Yes we do have great drummers and soldiers too for that matter. And as i stated before we don´t NEED to fight wars right now. We do however contribute a lot to peacekeeping actions.

You cannot really say that Japan is a “fighting people” anymore. You are at best a country for the US to put some bases in.

  18. comment number 18 by: Raz0rbabe

That’s kind of a terrible thing to say, a lot of innocent lives were ruined. But the point still stands, Swedes are not a fighting people anymore. But the army obviously train some great drummers, so yeah! Awesome!

Who said the norwegians were our friends? We have fought plenty of wars against them. And we were trading heavily with Germany at the time. Furthermore the german troops that went trough here were unarmed.

Speaking of cowardly, the name Pearl Harbor comes to mind… but you got what you deserved in the end. Two wonderful nukes.

  20. comment number 20 by: Raz0rbabe

Sometimes fighting wars are preferable to peace. Like when you let the Germans go through Sweden to invade you neighbor and “friend” Norway. But I guess Swedes don’t prefer to call that cowardly rather than.. smart, maybe?

  21. comment number 21 by: bergis81

No of course nobody wanted you to win. Well, I guess you did. So you agree that peace is preferable to war, how nice. Could that perhaps be why we have not fought a war since 1814?

  22. comment number 22 by: Raz0rbabe

Speaking in long terms, very well. After the war we became a somewhat democratic country with one of the strongest economies in the world. I don’t think anyone would want Japan to win that war.

  23. comment number 23 by: bergis81

Speaking of wars, how did the last one turn out for you?

  24. comment number 24 by: Raz0rbabe

No, I’m Japanese. Tough I lived in Sweden for some time.

  25. comment number 25 by: bergis81

I take it from your ignorance that you are an American?
