I remember watching Mariah Carey for the first time and falling in love with her! …Show business industry is changing and that’s probably why her songs and her image has kinda changed but she is still “our” Mariah Carey inside and you gotta love her! xxx

Great performance! The only flaw is her whistle. It started off shaky and sounded a little rough, but other than that, this was practically flawless.

everytime I hear the intro for VOL, I just can’t help but get goosebumps. This song predicted Mariah’s success and longevity. It’s a classic truly. Sweet destiny indeed.

I agree! back then she found it easier to sing and seemed more ‘pure’..but if you don’t succumb to commercialism, you will find it hard to sell heaps. People back then appreciated real music..today, it’s all about stupid and pathetic lyrics, over a hot beat.

Also she’s hot today, and wish she didn’t feel it necessary to always have to act so sexy in a totally irrelevant song! Just watch how free she was in this video!!

Yeah she had changed her look. But keep in mind that nearly 20 years had passed since this performance. Not only MC had changed, the whole fashion had changed.

Because she has had stage fright and she still has it today

she’s not 40 yet she’s 38 and she was 20 so not really entering her early 20’s

Seeing her now and seeing her back then.. The difference is ridiculous. She was so much more real back in the 90s.

She doesn’t look good heavy. She needs to get down to this size and stay there
