    @CleverDjembe You’d be surprised how much Irish ‘filler’ influenced Afro American slang. The word ‘Dig’, as in ‘can you dig it?’ comes from the Irish word for ‘understand’. Even the way the word ‘all right’ has become ‘aight’ sounds like it came from an Irish accent to my ears.

    @14Russian88 I had a Russian girl friend who was unable to return home as a business man from her part of Russia was buying local police, media, politicians etc to the point her family was black listed because they refused to become part of his deceit. I agree, from the evidence I have heard that Russia in a delicate sate right now. Western money did nothing for Russia, apart from make a few people very rich. I Have a place in my heart for your country and wish you well.

    I feel bad for my people. I was born during communism times. My generation has changed its more of westernized & money buys you authority. I feel like my country is falling apart. While the TRUE Russians are dying & the few rich are rising.

    These people are criminals. But majority of these old fashioned Russian prisoners are still true Russians. Unlike…the druggies in Russian jails.

    Back when I lived in Soviet Union, only few people used drugs.

    @sekretutka how do you know they’re anymore educated than US counterparts? just be honest and say you hate the sound of poor black men. can’t stand it when ppl complain about ‘wiggers’ or ebonics or types of cars when it’s just dislike of blacks, usually traced to blacks/preppies or jocks acting black, who intimidated back in high school etc. never fails, this postulate

    Those words don’t indicate a lack of intelligence or fluency on the part of the speaker – they are filler words, their usage is more nuanced than you allow. And Russian is replete with filler words! There are also different registers that criminals speak in, namely “blatnoi yazyk” and the more universal “russkij mat,” the latter of which is considered one of the most uncivilized and boorish registers. Just saying.

    @sekretutka You’re bragging because you articulate criminals? BAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH

    Jail is jail everywhere… and the difference between convicted and free people is that convicted have been fucked by the cops… that’s what I have to say on this film.
    But the tattoo rules and symbolism are troubling me a train…

  17. comment number 17 by: CleverDjembe

    @sekretutka

    Yes. You can see how those unnecessary filler words are a product of Afro-American street slang. Not saying it’s a good or a bad thing.

    @EliteAvenger130 Not all men in Russian Gaols are ethnic Russians. Many descend from the Caucusus region as well.
